A poem by CAROLINE BIGLEY.

Metal flowers bloom

under bare lightbulbs

forged by hand,

the furnace of Phoebe.

Ribbed and twisted

curled and enveloping,

layers of grief

all unfurl,

in silvery lustre

only to be recycled, discarded.

My silver bloom withers

untouched no more.
