A Poem by RUBY MASON

Farewell, my lovely –
Pearls are a nuisance of human bondage.
Beloved, never let me go walking
on glass, to the lighthouse, the sea.
Love –
In the time of Cholera, kiss.
Kiss the beautiful,
and the damned kiss the dust.
Take a girl like you, farewell
(My lovely, we are still married)
to the lighthouse, the sea.
Women in love – a mind to murder
a handful of dust.
