Juliette Cottu’s vibrant illustrations frequently return to the subject of female identity. She likes ‘distorting pre-conceived ideas’, revisiting conventional nudes with a new colour palette and her idiosyncratic illustrative style. Sometimes eerie and meditative, sometimes sultry or flirty, her drawings always capture character and evoke a distinctive spirit. They celebrate and lay bare femininity in many guises.
