A poem by DISHA TAKLE.

you and I

speak different words

neither can understand

but you and I

are bound together

we walk

hand in hand

I lose your words

I slither away

you hear me out

with nothing to say

our emotions are lost

in translation

but I do not give up

and neither do you

I shed my skin

just to talk

to you

you write me letters

by my side

we’re tongue tied till

our worlds collide

until your words

become mine and

mine become yours,

our words and worlds

stay at war

so you and I we

always try so one day we

might see

eye to eye
