At the end of January, Luke Powerzz put out his first release ‘Wiring’. Featuring on an upcoming EP, the track is a stripped back drunken confession. Take a listen below:
Influenced by greats such as Frank Ocean and Drake, the singer-songwriter adopts an R&B-like style undeterred by the melancholy of the lyrics, while minimalist instrumentation and understated drums keep ‘Wiring’ reserved despite the intimate lyrical choices.
‘I wanted to capture those intoxicated thought processes, full of nostalgia and regret, but also with the acceptance and understanding that being a bit drunk somehow gives you. This song is for everyone sat on the back of the night bus or walking home in the early hours wondering about someone that meant a lot to them.’
