The Other Fitzgerald
New York, Paris, London, Paris –
Every city’s bittered by our love.
We left our youth
On champagne glass rims:
You drank, I danced
And bought beautiful things.
That glossed mink coat –
A hollow skin.
The watch, the necklace
Of course, the ring.
My darling, ink-bruised, golden lover –
You penned one wife,
I drowned another.
