Northern bands are the best: The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Joy Division. FLAT 24/7, a band with a few members from Derby but based in London, could soon follow suit. Their track ‘Motorways’ has a guitar melody that climbs and falls to a melancholy conclusion – ‘love is just as bad as we made out‘. ‘Looking for Me’ is nostalgic but picks up jubilantly, and their most popular track ‘Saturday Night/Sunday Morning’ has a sunny reggae vibe that’ll have you dancing all weekend.
